ABOUT US

Ndlondlo Reptile Park exists to change the way people see reptiles — from fear to fascination, from myth to understanding.

Based within Sugar Rush Park in Ballito, we are a conservation-driven organisation dedicated to reptile education, rescue, and responsible co-existence. South Africa is home to some of the world’s most diverse reptilian species, and yet these creatures are often misunderstood, feared, or harmed. Our mission is to shift that narrative through meaningful encounters, expert knowledge, and community engagement.

At our core, Ndlondlo is about education with impact. Through immersive learning experiences, school programmes, and public outreach, we give people of all ages the opportunity to engage directly with snakes, lizards, and other reptiles — often for the very first time. By bringing people into close contact with these animals in a safe, respectful environment, we foster awareness, respect, and ultimately, protection.

We also serve as a rescue and relocation hub, working closely with local communities and environmental partners to safely remove and rehome reptiles found in urban or residential areas. Our work in snakebite response, antivenom access, and collaboration with traditional communities has helped save countless lives — both human and reptile.

With over five decades of combined experience, our team brings not only expertise but deep passion to the work. From conservation advocacy and filming consultation to hands-on public education, every aspect of what we do is rooted in a love for the natural world.

Ndlondlo isn’t just a park. It’s a call to look closer, learn deeper, and live in harmony with the wild things that share our world.
